A Saudi-based charity organization Al-Iman Foundation for Charity tasked EVIC Europe Consulting to provide a full-engineering service package, including architecture, structural design services, and MEP consultation, for its new Cancer Hospital based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The new academic medical center master plan design provides a medical center that is visible to the surrounding community as a commitment to improving the quality of health care education in Jeddah. This academic medical center includes the following pro-posed program elements: academic campus, five medical colleges with 1000 students each, student center, recreation center, retail, teaching hospital, ambulatory clinic building, hotel with conference center -200 rooms, research building, corporate and medical office building. In addition to the educational facilities that the hospital’s design will provide, it will also be fit with the most advanced state-of-the-art medical equipment for the purpose of providing patients with the latest healthcare solutions in cancer treatment. The structure is engineered to maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures and other medical practices which may require a fully sanitized setting to reduce the risk of infection. The Cancer Hospital both architectural and structurally is the epitome of how cutting edge medical technological can be integrated into an aesthetically appealing, feasible design scheme.
